For generations, the Gotakhor community has lived and worked along the Yamuna, using their traditional diving skills to retrieve lost objects, clean waterways, and assist during emergencies. As Delhi continues to change, this way of life is slowly disappearing.
Join us for a screening of Disappearing Diving Communities: The Gotakhors of Yamuna, followed by a discussion and a collaborative zine-making workshop. Together, we’ll reflect on the film and explore questions of labour, ecology, memory, and the changing relationship between cities and the communities that sustain them.
