The Partition Museum is the world’s first museum dedicated to the memory of the Partition of India, one of the largest mass migrations in history. Created through a collective effort led by The Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust, it brings together personal stories, objects, and archives contributed by those affected. In this walk, we will move through the museum as a space of remembrance, exploring how memory is preserved and communicated through everyday objects, narratives, and lived experiences.
We will reflect on how these fragments of the past—letters, photographs, and belongings—carry intimate histories of loss, resilience, and survival. The walk also invites us to think about whose stories are remembered, how they are told, and what it means to inherit this history today. Rather than a fixed narrative, the museum emerges as a living archive shaped by people’s memories and ongoing contributions.
